Liquid Launcher TV runs entirely on your TV. There's no server behind it collecting what you watch, how you browse, or who you are — nothing about your usage is sent anywhere.
Here's exactly what that means in practice.
We don't ask for and never receive:
There's no sign-up screen because there's no account to make. Install it and it just works.
There's no GPS, no location permission, and no IP lookup — your location is never detected. If you want weather on the screensaver, you manually type a city and pick it from a list. That single choice is the only location information the app ever has.
The city name you type is briefly sent to Open-Meteo to look up matching places. Once you pick one, it's saved on your TV, and the screensaver sends those coordinates to Open-Meteo about every 30 minutes to fetch current conditions — nothing else, and nowhere else.
If you don't set a weather location, the screensaver never fetches weather at all.
With Ambient Mode on, the screensaver loads photographs from Unsplash. These are ordinary image downloads and tell them nothing about you beyond what any web request reveals. With Ambient Mode off, no photos are fetched.
A handful of preferences live in local storage on the device itself, purely so the launcher remembers how you've set it up:
None of it is synced, backed up to us, or visible to anyone but you and your TV.
To show Continue Watching content on the home screen, Liquid Launcher TV reads Watch Next data that Android already exposes locally from your installed streaming apps. That read happens on-device — it's never packaged up and sent out.
On some TVs the built-in launcher owns the HOME key, and no app can take it. Liquid Launcher TV includes an optional accessibility service for one purpose: noticing that HOME was pressed, so it can open instead.
It is scoped as narrowly as Android allows:
It collects nothing, stores nothing, and sends nothing anywhere. It stays off unless you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time in your TV's Accessibility settings.
A Pro purchase goes through Google Play Billing, not through us directly. Google shares an order ID back with the app so a refund can be traced if you ever need one — beyond that, Google handles the transaction under its own privacy policy, viewable at policies.google.com/privacy.
Under the hood, the app is built with Jetpack Compose, Kotlin, AndroidX, and Coil — all standard, local-only libraries. None of them phone home on the app's behalf.
Liquid Launcher TV isn't designed to collect information from anyone, and that includes children under 13 — there's simply nothing here to collect in the first place.
Should the app's functionality change in a way that affects this policy, the update will be posted right here on this page.
